David Cirencione is proud to serve the residents of Ontario County as Sheriff and is seeking re-election to continue building on the progress made since taking office in 2023. A lifelong resident of the Finger Lakes region, David has dedicated his career to public service and law enforcement. Over the course of decades in the profession, he has gained extensive experience in policing, leadership, and public safety operations. Throughout his career, David has remained committed to the core values of professionalism, accountability, and community partnership. Since becoming Sheriff, Cirencione has focused on strengthening the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office while ensuring it remains responsive to the evolving needs of the community. His leadership has emphasized both operational excellence and strong relationships with the public, local municipalities, and partner agencies. Under Sheriff Cirencione’s leadership, the Sheriff’s Office has advanced a number of initiatives designed to enhance safety, improve services, and support the dedicated men and women who serve the community.

Key Initiatives and Accomplishments

  • Implementation of the Blue Envelope Program, supporting drivers on the autism spectrum and improving communication during traffic stops
  • Completion of a full remodel of the Ontario County 911 Center, strengthening emergency response capabilities
  • Expansion of School Resource Officer coverage, ensuring every school district served by the Sheriff’s Office has a dedicated SRO
  • Support and expansion of Blue Line Wellness initiatives, providing mental health resources and peer support programs for deputies, corrections officers, and first responders
  • Certification and deployment of K-9 Colt, trained in patrol, tracking, and nitrate detection
  • Establishment of a Community Relations Coordinator position to strengthen outreach and public engagement
  • Creation of an in-house dental suite at the county jail, reducing transportation costs and improving inmate healthcare access
  • Deployment of specialized equipment such as the MRV UTV to assist with remote rescue operations and large community events
  • Coordination of the first comprehensive jail facility security inspection in over five years, strengthening safety, accountability, and operational readiness within the correctional facility

Priorities for the Next Term

As Sheriff, David Cirencione remains focused on ensuring the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office continues to provide the highest level of service to residents while adapting to the evolving challenges facing law enforcement today.

Strengthening Community Partnerships

Sheriff Cirencione believes strong relationships between law enforcement and the community are essential to effective public safety. He will continue expanding outreach efforts, supporting community programs, and working closely with local schools, organizations, and municipalities to foster trust and collaboration.

Supporting and Investing in First Responders

The men and women of the Sheriff’s Office serve our community every day with dedication and professionalism. Sheriff Cirencione will continue prioritizing training, wellness initiatives, and resources that support deputies, corrections staff, and emergency personnel so they can perform their duties safely and effectively.

Enhancing Public Safety Through Innovation and Preparedness

Public safety requires constant improvement and preparation. Sheriff Cirencione will continue investing in modern equipment, technology, and training that allow the Sheriff’s Office to respond effectively to emergencies, protect residents, and maintain the high standards of service expected throughout Ontario County.
